Luke’s view on art.
So I guess Harley really is a bloke then? Could have fooled me.
Also how mixed up was the message in this episode.
Remember kids it’s bad to share nude shots.
Asking half our male cast to strip down and broadcasting IE sharing their half-naked forms with 3 million viewers is perfectly acceptable however.
I can’t be the only who sees the horrible implications of this.
The hypocrisy of Ender’s Game boycott
Ender’s Game has a strong cast, an interesting premise and looks to be a great movie. Yet there seems to be strong call to boycott this film based on the sole fact that the author of the book is a known homophobe
It’s not really all that nice and it understandably pisses quite a few people off. Suggesting a boycott of the movie however is a step too far.
The people calling for a boycott wouldn’t stand for it if people were to boycott a film for the sole reason that the author of the book happens to be gay. They would be outraged and say the author’s sexuality has nothing to do with the movie and rightly so.
So why does Orson Scott Cards view on sexuality suddenly matter and what gives these people the right to discriminate against Mr. Card in a way that would never be accepted if it were to happen to a gay author?
If you’re interested in the movie just go see it. Judge the material and not the author just like you wouldn’t want people to judge a homosexual author instead of his material because Card’s homophobia is just as irrelevant.
I don’t approve of homophobia but if there’s one thing I really can’t stand it’s hypocrisy.
Ps. Let us all remember that the battle for gay rights doesn’t depend on this movie. If he wants to waste his money on a lost cause, that’s fine with me. I won’t let it stop me from seeing or enjoying the movie.
If any whovians remember the little kid who won the Blue Peter competition to play the part of Creet in Utopia. He’s actually in The Hobbit now playing the part of Bain.
